Twin City Elementary School provides optimal learning experiences for students that will make them become productive, responsible members of an ever-changing society.

Principal's Message

Dear Parents and Students,

Welcome to the 2023-2024 school year at Twin City Elementary!   I am extremely proud to serve as the Principal of this amazing learning community. This is my twenty-second year in education and my nineteenth year at TCE where I have been a teacher, instructional coach, and Assistant Principal. Ms. Christie Henry will be joining me as the Assistant Principal. She has been a teacher at TCE for many years where she taught 5th grade, kindergarten, and STEAM.  Our primary goal  is to ensure that all of our students receive the best instruction possible and to provide a safe, nurturing, and orderly environment. We look forward to working together to help lead our students and staff and watch our school flourish!

Our dedicated team of teachers and staff members at Twin City Elementary are continually learning and growing through collaboration and professional development.  We strive to provide a curriculum based on research and best practices as well as differentiated instructional strategies for students based on individual needs.  I am excited to highlight important instructional initiatives, which include the expanded use of our phonics program along with a focus on structured literacy at the K-3 levels. Over the past year, our students have shown growth with a newly designed master schedule allowing a designated reading intervention period in every grade level. Our goal is for all students to achieve at or above their current grade level in all core subject areas.  Our teachers and staff members are passionate about their roles as educators and pledge to help each student succeed.

We know the children of our community have great potential, and it requires every individual in their lives to work together for their success. We believe that collaboration and cooperation between our school and your home is important for your child’s education experience. Throughout the year, we will provide numerous opportunities for parents and families to actively participate in your child's education. From school-wide events, to spending time with your child reading and completing homework, as well as volunteer opportunities, we encourage you to get involved and become an integral part of our school community.  Your support and partnership are invaluable in creating a positive and enriching experience for our students.

The Twin City Elementary staff and I feel privileged to be a part of this school family. Together, I know we will make this school year one of growth and achievement for all TCE students. We are here to guide, support, and inspire your children every step of the way. We thank you for your support and look forward to partnering with you. You may contact me at  478-763-2253.

Sincerely,

Jessica S. Collins, Principal

Academics & Assessments

Twin City Elementary School works hard to make sure that our students receive a quality education in all subject areas.

Title I

The intent of Federal Programs is to “help all children have the opportunity to obtain a high-quality education and reach proficiency on challenging state and academic standards and assessments.” Our Federal Programs also strive to “enable schools to provide opportunities for at-risk and disadvantaged children to acquire the knowledge and skills contained in the challenging State content standards and to meet the challenging State performance standards developed for all children.”  Federal Programs “supplements” and not supplants what the required Local and State funds provide.
